Neila was born in Salem Massachusetts on 1/11/11. We knew with that birthdate she would be special and she was! Neila was a gentle and easy going dog with a stoic personality. If anything ever bothered her, she certainly didn’t let it show and she barely made a sound unless it was absolutely necessary. Neila’s favorite activities included swimming, hiking, getting dirty and feeling the wind through her hair on car rides. She was friendly with other dogs and people, and loved to make sure everyone was in the same room in order to keep track. She wasn’t much of a snuggler except after a haircut; she would snuggle up nice and close until she got too hot. One of our favorite things about Neila was her love of camping and sleeping in the tent. When she was ready for bed, she would let us know by sitting next to the tent waiting for us to let her in. She would curl up in the sleeping bags and snuggle in for the night while we sat by the fire. Neila lived a life full of adventure, and filled our lives with happy memories and love. She went over the rainbow bridge last May at 13.5 years old, and we will cherish her and her dirty beard always and forever

A Silver Beard is a Bouvier who has reached their 12th birthday.

Longevity is an important part of our breed legacy and the Bouvier Health Foundation has been honoring our “senior citizens” for over 15 years. We honor any Bouvier registered with the AKC or the CKC that has reached it’s 12th birthday in the past 5 years.
