Magpie aka Maggie had earned her CGC, novice draft title, and two legs of her rally novice when COVID put a stop to her sports career. Her papers show multiple owners because she was a Juniors dog for Alexa, Rusty put her CGC on her, Sara owned her for her draft title, and Shawn owned her for rally. We all have had the pleasure of working with her. She is quite biddable.

 Maggie has always moved beautifully. I think you could put a cup of coffee on her back and let her run without spilling a drop.

She likes to go, so she's game for a road trip.  She has a fascination with small rodents and she is often successful at running them. You have to get them away from her quickly or they become a snack. 

About 2 years ago an ultra sound showed a splenic mass and a mammary tumor. Both were removed successfully and the pathology report indicated both were benign tumors. At the time she had a head-to-toe Xray work up and it did not show any arthritic changes. In general, she is a healthy girl.

What is a “Silver Beard”?

A Silver Beard is a Bouvier who has reached their 12th birthday.

Longevity is an important part of our breed legacy and the Bouvier Health Foundation has been honoring
our “senior citizens” for over 15 years. We honor any registered purebred Bouvier that has reached its 12th birthday.

How do I have my best buddy honored?

Send the following information to the Silver Beards Coordinator, Lara Harriger at bhfsilverbeards@gmail.com:

• Their registered name, call name, date of birth and if they have passed tell us the date of their passing.

• A photo of your best friend. Candid is preferred.

• A short statement about what makes your best friend extraordinary. What have they accomplished in their long
  lives? Do they have any special friends? Do they have a particular job to do? Any funny stories to tell?

• Please include all the names that you would like listed under “Owned and Loved By:”

Do I have to be a member of the American Bouvier des Flandres Club to participate?

No, any registered purebred Bouvier is welcome.
